Season Preview
Head Coach John McCloskey believes that every team in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has gotten better. McCloskey also believes that with five returning All-CSAC players and some talented newcomers, the Cyclones women’s lacrosse team will also improve and can be in the hunt for the CSAC championship.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team battled to a 4-4 MASCAC tie this evening as the Falcons hosted Plymouth State in the Wallace Civic Center at Fitchburg State University.

Dickinson holds off No. 20 Blue Jays in season debut
Dickinson stunned the 20th-ranked Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team with five unanswered goals to put itself in control of Tuesday afternoon's non-conference tilt, one that marked the start of both teams' seasons. The Blue Jays rallied multiple times, and got five goals from freshman Leigh Anne Flounlacker, before falling 13-11 to the Red Devils.

Cyclones Picked Fifth In MLAX Pre-Season CSAC Poll
The Centenary College men’s lacrosse team has been picked to finish fifth this season in the 2012 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Pre-Season coaches’ poll. The Cyclones received a total 32 points in this year’s poll, falling just behind Immaculata University with 38.

Head coach Janet Lloyd surpassed the 500-career wins mark on Saturday as the Chapman University softball team came away with a pair of dominant victories over La Sierra University at El Camino Real Park. Chapman hit four homers in the doubleheader as they won the first game 12-3 and followed that up with a 9-0 shutout.

No. 11 UR Softball Destroys SCIAC Competition in Consecutive Doubleheaders
The No. 11 Redlands softball team dominated Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Whittier College in a pair of doubleheaders over the weekend, moving to the top of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings as the only remaining undefeated team. The Bulldogs posted three five-inning victories, highlighted by two shutouts, to go along with a 12-4 thrashing of the Sagehens in the opener. Among the four contests, the Maroon and Gray tallied 48 runs and uncorked 47 hits, which included seven home runs.

No. 1 Oswego State Shuts Out No. 4 Cardinals, 3-0
OSWEGO, N.Y. - Another chapter was added to one of the most storied rivalries in college hockey as Andrew Hare registered 27 saves to give the No. 1-ranked Oswego State men's ice hockey team (20-2-2, 13-0-2 SUNYAC) a 3-0 win over fourth-ranked Plattsburgh (16-4-4, 11-3-1 SUNYAC) Friday night in front of a sellout crowd. It was Hare's second shutout of the season that locked the top seed in the conference playoffs for the Lakers, who are unbeaten in six straight games against the Cardinals.

GENESEO, N.Y. – A balanced offensive attack helped the second-ranked Oswego State men's ice hockey team (15-2-2, 8-0-2 SUNYAC) hold off Geneseo (10-10-0, 4-7-0 SUNYAC) in a 4-1 win Friday at Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena. Three different lines and a defenseman accounted for all four Laker goals, as the squad maintained its one-point lead over second-place Plattsburgh.

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Liz (Wells) Student, the current assistant women’s lacrosse coach at the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif., has been named the fifth head coach in the history of the State University of New York at New Paltz women’s lacrosse program, as announced Wednesday by New Paltz director of athletics Stuart Robinson. Teddy Bear Toss Draws Record Crowd - Pioneers Cruise Past Salve Regina
The nationally-ranked No. 10 Utica College men's hockey team sold out the Utica Memorial Auditorium for the first time in program-history Saturday night as the Pioneers routed visiting Salve Regina 12-0 in front of 4,000 fans. The Pioneer nation turned out to take part in the seventh annual New York Sash Teddy Bear Toss, and after UC's Ridge Garbutt netted the first goal of the contest with less than five minutes to go in the first period, 4,500+ teddy bears began to fly out onto the ice for collection and distribution to local children throughout the holiday season.

POTSDAM, N.Y.—Sophomore forward Mike Arnold scored two goals and freshman goaltender Dylan Ellis made 35 saves to lead the SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey team (5-3, 4-3 SUNYAC) to a 5-1 victory over SUNY Cortland (3-7-1, 2-4-1) on Friday night. The victory was the Bears’ third in a row.

WEXFORD, Pa. - The Saint Vincent College men and Grove City College women each hold narrow leads following the conclusion of the 2011 fall sports season in the race for the 2011-12 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Sports Trophies. The all-sports trophies are awarded annually to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. MIAC Volleyball Athletes-of-the-Week
The Gustavus volleyball team has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the MIAC this season, and the Gusties are coming off another great week in conference play and at the UW-Oshkosh Tournament. Senior middle hitter Angela Ahrendt (Shoreview, Minn./Roseville) continued her strong season with All-Tournament Team honors in Oshkosh and 75 kills, 16 totals blocks and a .346 hitting percentage while helping Gustavus go 4-1 on the week. For her performance, Ahrendt was named the MIAC Volleyball Hitter-of-the-Week.

MIAC Cross Country Athletes-of-the-Week
St. Thomas senior Ben Sathre (Chaska, Minn.) has picked his spots thus far in 2011, but he has chosen very wisely. Saturday, Sathre ran just his second race of the fall, but ran to his second victory, finishing first at the 2011 Princeton (N.J) Invitational against a field of talented runners, including 11 Division I teams. As a result, Sathre also won his second MIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete-of-the-Week honor of 2011 in just a three-week span in 2011, and the fifth of his career.
