Lakeland's Jake Schwarz has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for games of January 30-February 5.
Schwarz (Sheboygan, Wis.) averaged a double-double, 29.0 points and 11.o rebounds, last week as the Muskies went 1-1 in Northern Athletics Conference play.
In a 86-81 loss to Edgewood, Schwarz scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while shooting 47 percent (7-for-15) from the field, 3-for-6 from behind the arc, and hit 9-of-10 free throws.
Versus Benedictine on Saturday, a 101-92 victory, the junior forward scored 32 points and tallied 12 rebounds while shooting 58 percent (11-for-19) from the field and he also hit all nine of his free-throw attempts for the Muskies (16-5, 10-3 NAC).

Dominican's Kayla Blom has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for games of January 30-February 5.
Blom (Circle Pines, Minn.) scored double-digits in both of the Stars' wins last week, including a 20-point performance at Marian on Saturday when she shot nearly 60 percent from the floor and 4-of-7 from long range. The senior guard also snagged seven rebounds, handed out seven assists and managed three blocks on the week, while shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line for the Stars (14-7, 10-4 NAC).

Concordia Chicago's Merrell Davis and MSOE's Emily Dieringer were named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for events of January 30-February 5.
Davis (Milwaukee, Wis.) won the 55-meter dash, long jump and triple jump at the UW-Parkside Classic on Saturday. He won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.55 second and the triple jump with a mark of 12.80 meters. The senior's long jump of 6.93 meters broke his own school record from last year.
Dieringer (Saukville, Wis.) set a new school record in the 55-meter hurdles last Saturday at the UW-Parkside Classic. Her time of 8.78 seconds was also good for first place in the event. Additionally she placed second in the 200-meter dash (27.32 seconds) and third in the pole vault (3.05 meters).
