NECC Men's Volleyball Coaches Poll Announced

Endicott College has been chosen to finish at the top of the 2012 NECC Men's Volleyball standings in a vote by the leagues coaches. The Gulls, who received seven first place votes and 49 points, return five starters from a team that went 14-2 last season in the New England division of NECVA.

Endicott graduated just one senior, return the majority of their roster that ranked fourth in nation in blocks (2.36 per match), and welcome 6'6 freshman from Malibu, Tommy Stoeckinger, to further enhance the team's defensive presence at the net. Senior Libero Andrew Slocum was a NECVA 1st Team All-Conference & 1st Team All-New England selection last season.

This season will mark the first season of NECC sponsored men's volleyball. The NECC tournament champion receives auto bid to first ever NCAA Division III men's volleyball championship.

During the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons, NECC members Daniel Webster, Elms, Lesley, Newbury and Southern Vermont competed in the New England division of the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) and held an NECC tournament.
