NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Megan Reynolds and Wheaton’s Jenna McCallister were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Volleyball Players of the Week Tuesday.
Reynolds, a sophomore middle hitter from Thornton, Ill., and Marian Catholic High School (Elementary Education major), led Elmhurst in kills, blocks and hitting percentage while helping the Bluejays finish the month of October undefeated. On Wednesday, she totaled six kills and seven blocks in a three-set sweep over Illinois Wesleyan. On Saturday she was named to the all-tournament team at the Benedictine Invite after helping the Bluejays to their 15th-straight victory with wins over Benedictine and Edgewood. Against Benedictine, she had 17 kills and registered six blocks while hitting .351, and she recorded 10 kills and three blocks in the Bluejays' win over Edgewood. For the week, she totaled 33 kills (3.3 per set) and 16 blocks (1.6 per set).
McCallister, a senior setter from Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Palisades Charter (Applied Health Science major), averaged 9.7 assists and 4.44 digs last week as the Thunder went 3-0. She was named to the all-tournament team at the Benedictine Invite and also led the Thunder with 15 digs in a 3-0 win against North Park on October 25 in the CCIW regular season finale.
