Olivet’s Fiorillo, Lohr Named MIAA Athletes of the Week in Swimming and Diving

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Olivet’s Brian Fiorillo and Caitlin Lohr the recipients of the first MIAA Athletes of the Week award in swimming and diving for the 2011-12 season.

Men’s Swimming and Diving

Fiorillo, a sophomore from Southgate (Anderson HS), was a part of two winning relay teams at the season-opening MIAA Relays at the Holland Aquatic Center. He swam an anchor leg of 21.14 seconds in the freestyle portion of the 200 medley relay as the Comets came from behind to tie Kalamazoo for first place. He also led off Olivet’s winning 200 freestyle relay team with a time of 21.61 for his leg.

 

Women’s Swimming and Diving

Lohr, a senior from Holland (Hamilton HS), posted the fastest leg in two of the three relays she swam in at the MIAA Relays. She led off Olivet’s 200 freestyle relay team with a time of 24.48 seconds, leading the Comets to a second-place showing. She also had the fastest 50 butterfly split on Olivet’s 200 medley relay with a time of 26.29.
