NEAC East Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

Senior Kate Bucci came through when her team needed her most on Sunday in leading the Spartans to their third straight NEAC East Championship. With Castleton and Colby-Sawyer knotted up at 4-4 apiece, Bucci found herself embattled in the final singles match of the afternoon with the Chargers' Claire Toffey. Playing at No. 2, the senior dropped the first set 7-5 and won the second 7-6 in an 8-6 tiebreaker. Tied at 5-5 in the final set, Bucci was able to break serve to go up 6-5. She finished off Toffey 7-5 to propel the Spartans to victory in a match which spanned five hours. For her efforts she was also named Tournament MVP.
