Denison came into Saturday as the underdogs, despite a 14-1 record, and the Big Red lived that status to its fullest, knocking off third-ranked Lynchburg 10-5 on the road.
The win sends Denison to the Elite 8 for the 12th time in program history where they will face Stevenson on Wednesday, May 16. Eddie Vita and Alex Hardt each scored three times for the Big Red.
The other road upset was only one in the minds of the NCAA, as Dickinson, playing at home despite being ranked No. 11, fell to No. 6 Cabrini 12-7. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 6-2 lead and held the Red Devils at bay. Bobby Thorp led the way with three goals and an assist.
Stevens scored five of the last seven goals but it wasn't enough as Cortland held off the Ducks for a 10-9 win. Union defeated Bowdoin 10-4 to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in program history. Salisbury improved to 23-0 against Goucher, rolling past the Gophers 12-4.
