Having dropped it's opening match of the SCAC Tournament, the Centre College volleyball team fell in five games to Oglethorpe University in its second match Friday, Nov. 4 in Jackson, Miss.

The Colonels jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning game one 25-20. The Stormy Petrels answered with a 25-22 win in game two, but Centre won game three 25-15. Needing to win just one more game, the Colonels were unable to do so falling by a combined four points in the final two games 25-23 and 15-13.

Senior Stephanie Woeste (Louisville, Ky.) led Centre with 13 kills and three blocks. Senior Laura Hench (Lexington, Ky.) tallied 16 digs and 10 kills and senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) ended with 32 assists and 20 digs.

The seventh-seeded Colonels will play their final match of the 2011 season Saturday, Nov. 5 against 12th seeded Sewanee-University of the South. Start time is set for 9 a.m. in Jackson, Miss.
