The Centre College volleyball team's recent struggles continued Wednesday, Oct. 12 in a 3-1 non-conference loss to Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.
The Colonels, which have now dropped six straight matches, fall to 11-14 overall, while the Scots improve to 17-6 on the season.
The night started out well as Centre won game one 25-18, but the Scots won the next three games 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 to win the match.
Senior Stephanie Woeste (Louisville, Ky.) led the offensive attack again by posting 14 kills and three service aces. Freshman Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) tallied eight kills and two blocks, while senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) and Laura Hench (Lexington, Ky.) finished with 31 assists and 14 digs respectively.
After playing nine straight road or neutral matches, the Colonels will return home Saturday, Oct. 15 to host the Centre Tri-Match. The Colonels will play Berry College at 12 p.m. followed by a match against Fisk University at 4 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium in Danville, Ky.
