Penn State-Berks Trips Royals, 3-1, Tuesday Evening At The Long Center

SCRANTON, Pa.—Penn State-Berks handed The University of Scranton its second straight loss, 3-1, Tuesday evening at the John J. Long Center.

The Nittany Lions won the final two sets convincingly to improve to 6-1 on the season, while the loss dropped the Royals to 5-6.

Junior outside hitter Jenell McFadden (Springfield, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) and freshman outside hitter Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) combined for 14 kills and 16 digs and sophomore middle hitter Kelly Nolan (Pearl River, NY/Albertus Magnus) finished with six kills and two blocks for Scranton.

The Royals also received eight digs apiece from freshmen Victoria Maio (Thornwood, NY/Westlake) and Jennifer Ryan (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley).

Scranton will return to action this Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24, at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational in Pittsburgh.
