Wartburg wins No. 13 in grand fashion

Wartburg passed archrival Augsburg and won the Division III wrestling national title for the 13th time.

Wartburg outdistanced the field to finish atop NCAA Division III wrestling, while Augsburg finished second for the 11th time as a Division III member at the 2017 NCAA Division III wrestling championships. It's Wartburg's 13th national title, edging out Augsburg's 12, and the Knights' second in a row.

In a highly split field, where no school took home more than one individual title, Eric DeVos was the Knights' lone individual champion, knocking off Messiah's Ben Swarr in the championship bout at 174. 

The run continued between archrivals Wartburg and Augsburg, where one of the two schools has won the Division III wrestling title every season since 1995.
