Bison make it 13-straight, down Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Nichols College men's tennis team earned their 13th-straight victory with an 8-1 win over Connecticut College in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon in New London, Conn.
The Bison improve to 14-2 overall, while the Camels drop to 2-7. Nichols is back in action Wednesday afternoon when Roger Williams comes to town for a 4:00 p.m. matchup at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
Junior Blake Norton and freshman August Moelleropened up the match with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over senior Ethan Hecker and freshman Brandon Ameglio. Sophomores Guilherme Barbosa and Peter Colettifollowed with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over freshman Brian Gould and freshman Ruben Trauba, while sophomore Brandon Howard and junior Igor Markowski made it a clean doubles sweep for the Bison with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over freshman Walter Komishane and junior Scott Brown.
Howard added a 6-3, 6-3 win over Brown at No. 1 singles, while Barbosa sealed the match for the Bison with an 8-5 victory over Hecker at No. 2 singles. Norton defeated freshman Michael Sarazen at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3, with freshman Brandon Stewart registering an 8-4 victory over Trauba at No. 4 singles.
Coletti battled his way to a three-set victory at No. 6 singles, defeating sophomore William Feigert, 3-6, 6-1, 10-7.
The Camels got their lone point of the day at No. 5 singles as Komashine defeated sophomore Jack Donaldson, 8-4.

The win for the Bison snapped a nine-game losing streak against the Camels as Connecticut College had won the previous nine matchups.
