GRAND LAKE, Colo. – For the first time this season, the Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team swept all 25 first-place votes on the way to earning the top spot in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III poll.
Gettysburg (4-0) ruled the top of the poll for the third consecutive week, but this was the first unanimous selection of the spring. The Bullets took home the maximum 625 points to easily out-pace The College of New Jersey (4-0) in second.
The top five remained the same from last week as Trinity (Conn.) College (2-0), Middlebury College (3-0), and Salisbury University (5-0) earned the next three spots. The University of Mary Washington (7-0), Ithaca College (3-0), and Franklin & Marshall College (3-2) all moved up one spot in the poll to sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively. York (Pa.) College (2-1) and Tufts University (2-0) rounded out the top 10.
Gettysburg has won each of its four games by double-figures, including wins over current No. 12 Messiah College (2-2) and No. 11 Washington and Lee University (2-4).
The Bullets square off with Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., this Thursday at 4 p.m.
