Oxy Volleyball Sweeps Mills, Wins 4th in a Row

LOS ANGELES — Claire Strohm had a match-high seven kills in limited action, Cassandra Guidiceadded six and the Occidental College women's volleyball team stayed hot with a 3-0 non-conference win over Mills College at Rush Gymnasium on Friday.

Set Scores: 25-4, 25-8, 25-11.

Season Impact: The Tigers have won four matches in a row and five of their last six. Oxy improves to 7-8 overall on the season.  

The Tigers hit .424 as a team for an easy victory. Sabrina Degnan and Amanda Herold had five kills each.

Oxy setter Sarah Beene totaled 19 assists and Annika Dechert had six. 

Mills got four kills from Janan Salaam.

Next Match: Oxy looks to get back to .500 and begins the second round of eight SCIAC matches at home on Tuesday against Redlands at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers beat Redlands 3-1 on the road on Sept. 18.
