(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Chatham University, 3-0, tonight (Thursday, October 13, 2011) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-14.
With the win, the Saints improve to 11-9 overall and 7-4 in the PAC and with the loss, the Cougars fall to 1-21 overall and 0-11 in the PAC.
The Saints were led offensively, by senior middle blocker Katie Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton), who had 12 kills and four service aces and sophomore middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic), who had eight kills. Senior setter Michelle Clifford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) and junior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) each finished the match with 12 assists. Defensively, the Saints had to players finish with double-digit digs as freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrsion Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) had 15 and freshman defensive specialist Amber Peters (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) finished with 11.
The Saints return to action on Saturday (October 15) as they play Grove City College at 10 a.m. and Hilbert College at 12 p.m. in Grove City, Pennsylvania and then play Waynesburg University at 7 p.m. in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
