The Centre College volleyball team dropped a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) matches to Southwestern University and the University of Dallas Sunday, Oct. 9 in day two of the SCAC East/West Divisional in San Antonio, Texas.

The Colonels fell in three games to Southwestern losing 25-21 in both games one and two and then falling 25-20 in game three.

Freshman Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) and senior Stephanie Woeste (Louisville, Ky.) led Centre with eight and seven kills respectively. Woeste also added five blocks, while senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) had 26 assists and junior Jenna Foushee (Louisville, Ky.) added 24 digs.

Centre then returned for its second match of the day and lost in four games to Dallas 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21.

Freshman Lydia Prevost (Knoxville, Tenn.) tallied 10 kills, one block and one service ace. Woeste recorded 10 kills, five aces and two blocks. Greer had 34 assists and 13 digs and fellow senior Laura Hench (Lexington, Ky.) finished with 12 digs and one block.

The Colonels, now 11-13 overall and 5-6 in the SCAC, will step out of conference play to take on Maryville College Wednesday, Oct. 12. The match is set to start at 8 p.m. in Maryville, Tenn.
