Colonels sweep Spalding in three games

With the win, the Colonels improve to 9-7 overall, while the Golden Eagles see their four-match win streak snapped and fall to 9-8 on the year.

After winning 25-19 in game one, games two and three were a bit tighter as Centre won both games 25-23.

Sophomore Lydia Prevost (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way with eight kills. Freshmen Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) and Celia Moser (Troy, Ohio) had six kills each with Asbury also adding five service aces. Senior Laura Hench (Lexington, Ky.) tallied 15 digs, and fellow senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) added 26 assists in the win.

Centre will return to action Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) East Inter-Pod hosted by Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Ala. The Colonels will open play against Birmingham Southern Saturday at 2 p.m. CST and then play Trinity University at 6 p.m. CST.
