LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania evened its record on the season Tuesday by overwhelming intrastate rival Spalding 3-0 in college volleyball action at the Beck Center.
Making their first home appearance at the Beck Center, the Pioneers got back to .500 on the year with their fourth win in eight decisions. The Golden Eagles dropped to 3-6 on the year.
In control of a match that lasted 90 minutes, Transy won by scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.
Senior Blayke Herman led the Transy offense with nine kills and Lauren Ketron added seven. Setter Rebecca Luking was credited with 38 assists. On defense, freshman Rachel D'Agnillo came up with 16 digs while Amber Jackey added seven and Luking six.
Transy returns to action in the Centre Invitational this weekend. The Pioneers face Fisk Friday at 5:30. On Saturday, they take on Kenyon and Marietta, beginning at noon.
