Bison lose two at Coast Guard

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomore J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) compiled 12 kills for the Nichols College women's volleyball team, which dropped a pair of 3-0 matches to Coast Guard and Western Connecticut State Friday evening in non-conference action at Roland Hall.


Coast Guard 3, Nichols 0 (25-8, 25-9, 25-5)
Baker posted five kills to lead the Bison while junior Sabrina Boermeester (Billerica, Mass.) collected four kills and six digs. Sophomore Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) notched seven digs to lead the squad.


Western Conn. St. 3, Nichols 0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-22)
Baker paced the Bison with seven kills, six digs, and four service aces. Boermeetser registered six kills and three digs while Simmons picked up six digs.


All-Time Series
Today's match marked the second all-time meeting between Nichols College and Coast Guard. The Bears lead the series, 2-0.

This evening's match marked the inaugural meeting between Western Connecticut State and Nichols College. The Colonials lead the series, 1-0.
