ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Hope outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer its Player of the Week and Hope setter Greer Bratschie its Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through October 22.
Player of the Week
Grasmeyer, a freshman from Jenison (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), had 55 kills for a hitting percentage of .310 and added 32 digs and six service aces for the week as the Flying Dutch won two of three MIAA matches. She set a Hope record for most kills in a four-set match with 23 and added 16 digs and three aces in a loss to MIAA champion Calvin, and added 18 kills for a hitting percentage of .483 in a sweep of Olivet. Grasmeyer is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Specialty Player of the Week
Bratschie, a junior from Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS), dished out 115 assists (11.5 per set) and added 25 digs for the week as Hope posted a 2-1 record. She had 47 assists and 14 digs against Calvin and 38 assists against Olivet. Bratschie is being honored as Specialty Player of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in her career.
