EMORY, Va. – The Washington and Lee volleyball team continued its winning ways with a 3-0 sweep of Emory & Henry at the King Center on Wednesday evening.
The Generals (18-2, 7-0 ODAC), dominated the Wasps (10-6, 2-3 ODAC) 25-14, 25-20, in the first two sets, before rallying from a 13-7 deficit to knock off E&H, 25-22, to take the final set.
Sophomore outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) and senior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) each recorded 11 kills to pace W&L. Senior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) added nine kills, while hitting .353, to go with three blocks.
Sophomore setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) had 34 assists and a pair of blocks. Junior libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) led the W&L defense with 11 digs and she chipped in four service aces. Boles recorded 10 digs and an ace and first-year Corinne Hemmersbach (Torrance, Calif./Chadwick) registered eight digs and an ace.
Nicole Tesh led the Wasps with nine kills. Fallon Davis had 14 assists and four different E&H players recorded four digs in the match.
The Generals return to the court on Friday when they take on Averett at 5:00pm, followed by a 7:00 pm date with Methodist on day one of the Maroon Classic hosted by Roanoke College.
