Sunday Sweeps Cap off East Coast Trip
HAVERFORD, Pa. - Cal Lutheran volleyball earned a pair of 3-0 victories to close out its weekend schedule sweeping both Stevens Tech and Haverford. A lengthy first set comeback victory against the host Fords set the tone for the rest of that match and the team's third straight sweep.

It was a dominating performance for the No. 8 Regals following its sweep of Frostburg State the day prior. Cal Lutheran held the Ducks to only 12 points in each of the first two sets before taking the third and deciding set by a 25-19 margin.

Cal Lutheran 3, Haverford 0 - F
Trailing 18-10 in the opening frame, Shannon Pearson's four straight kills were the main highlights of a Cal Lutheran comeback that eventually gave the Regals a 20-19 lead. CLU again trailed 24-23 and faced set point when Kylie McLogan and Lauren Rohach stuffed the Haverford attack.
Following a Rachel Smith ace to give CLU set point Rohach teamed up with Lesley Smith for the team's fifth block of the frame to take the opening frame 26-24.
Casy McWhirk led all players with 13 kills with three coming at a crucial time in the second set. Three straight points off assists from setter Jackie Russell turned a two-point deficit into a lead CLU held on to until the end.
Cal Lutheran never trailed in the third en route to a 25-15 set win to take the match.
Russell finished with a personal double-double highlighted by a match-high 30 assists, accompanied by 10 digs. Pearson supplied nine kills and Rohach added six kills and a match-high four block assists.
Cal Lutheran (3-1) will again play four matches over two days when hosting its annual Posada Royale Invitational starting Friday, Sept. 9.
