Hilbert snaps 30-game women's lacrosse skid

Hilbert women's lacrosse won for the first time since 2014, snapping a 30-game losing streak by rolling over D'Youville 20-4. 

Nikki Schneider, who has scored 78 goals in her four-year career, was on the field the last time the Hawks won and helped lead the team back into the victory column with three goals on six shots in the win. Schneider had four goals and three assists in Hilbert's most recent victory, a 19-10 win vs. Franciscan on April 12, 2014. 

D'Youville is fielding a women's lacrosse team for the first time this season. 

Brooklynn Gormel led the Hawks with 10 shots and shared game-high scoring honors with Emily Gawlak as they each scored five times. Hilbert converted on eight of its 12 free position shots, led by Nikki Schneider who went 3-for-4. Freshman Ashley Repine made four saves to pick up her first victory.

Hilbert improved to 1-4 on the season, while D'Youville fell to 0-7.

Hilbert outshot the Spartans 33-18, scooped 26 ground balls and converted 10-of-11 clears.
