Salisbury shortstop Hannah Mills' double scored Harley Hill in the third and the Sea Gulls made the run stand up as Salisbury defeated Texas-Tyler 1-0 in the 2013 NCAA D-III Softball Championship at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wis.

In the seventh inning, Texas-Tyler was mounting a rally that was cut short when Raven Rodriguez abandoned first base. The Patriots opened the frame with a four pitch walk by Rachel Johnson. Kathryn Larson took over in the circle for Johnson and walked Carli Wheeler.

After a fielders choice by Joey Cronin, Rodriguez ground ball was fielded by Mills who got the force on Cronin. Rodriguez left the first base bag and Larson alertly threw the ball to Harley Hill, ending the Texas-Tyler threat and ending their season.

Salisbury (42-3) advances to play the Cortland Red Dragons, who defeated Salisbury 2-1 in the opening game of the tournament. Salisbury will need to win three more games to win the national championship. Texas-Tyler ends their season at 47-6 with a ASC record 47 win season.
