Indoor baseball, continued
Thursday, March 8th, 2007
It’s pushing the midnight hour here in Minneapolis and, as I write this, a young child is being carried on a back up the stairs to the concourse level. And UW-Superior is tied up with Waldorf 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning. Waldorf’s Zack Etter parked a bomb to center, two sections to the left of the 408 sign that ricocheted off the railing and about 15 rows further back. Definitely the furthest hit ball I have seen here outside of MLB and Big Ten.
In the time it took me to do the rest of my job, Superior scored on a stolen base, single to third and a throwing error: 5-4 in seven.
Great games, it is definitely a little chillier in here but the latter game was definitely more exciting. Look for photo galleries from both games I saw tonight shortly.
Tomorrow I return for St. Mary’s vs Dickinson State University (11 a.m.) and Mt. Mercy vs Hamline (3:45 p.m.).
